Allentown Mennonite Church (Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA)
The Allentown Mennonite Church was founded as the Allentown Mennonite Mission by the Franconia Mennonite Board of Missions and Charities. Efforts in mission work in Allentown were begun as early as 1930 by interested laymen and Preacher David L. Gehman. Evangelistic services conducted by Elias W. Kulp were held at 810 St. John Street in a building rented by the mission board. The work was discontinued within a short time but was revived in 1945. The 1953 membership of twenty-seven was being served by Alvin Detweiler.
