Borden Mennonite Brethren Church (Borden, Saskatchewan, Canada)

Box 256, Borden, SK, S0K 0N0. (306) 997-4924. Located northwest of Section 15, Township 41, Range 8 west of 3rd Meridian. Pastor Tony Martens served in 2000 as a congregational leader. In 1950 there were 87 members; in 1965, 80; in 1985, 87; in 1993, 72; in 2000, 72. The congregation has been affiliated with the Saskatchewan Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches, the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches and the General Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches. The language of worship is English; the transition from German occurred in the 1950s.

The congregation began services in 1903, and formally organized in 1906. The first building was occupied in 1907, with a subsequent building program in 1952. David K. Klassen is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated through immigration from Russia.

Ministers who served the congregation prior to 1950 included David K. Klassen, Elder David Dyck, John A. Harder (served 1919-1935), Jacob J. Wiens, Jacob A. Nickel and A.K. Rempel.

The congregation was first known as Hoffnungsfeld Mennonite Brethren.
