Dammersfeld (Ballenstedt, Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany)
Dammersfeld (Thankmarsfelde) was once a Benedictine monastery, near Ballenstedt in the Harz, on which Prince Friedrich Albrecht settled a Swiss Mennonite family by the name of Sommer in 1787. They remained here until 1816, and were highly esteemed for their piety and economic capability. Very likely, they became homesick and returned to their Swiss mountains
