Ebenflur Mennonite Church (Hamilton County, Kansas, USA)

The Ebenflur ("Prairie") Mennonite Church (General Conference Mennonite), now extinct, in Hamilton County, Kansas, was founded in 1907 with about 40 members and Peter Heidebrecht as minister. On account of unfavorable climatic and economic conditions this rural settlement project failed, and most of the members gradually moved away, including finally the preacher and deacon. The small neighboring Mennonite Brethren congregation suffered the same fate.
