First Mennonite Church of Colorado Springs (Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA)
The Manitou Mennonite (Mennonite Church USA) Church, on Deerpath Avenue, Manitou Springs, Colorado, originally a member of the South Central Mennonite Conference, was organized in 1920, the meetinghouse having been dedicated on 15 August 1920. The first pastor was Kore Zook, followed by L. C. Miller. The highest membership in Manitou Springs was 106 in 1946.
Later more of the members lived in Colorado Springs, hence in 1948 the congregation was renamed First Mennonite Church of Colorado Springs. The congregation moved to a meetinghouse at 11 North 22nd Street in that city on 19 September 1948. The congregation had 148 members in 1954, with Jess Kauffman as pastor and 67 members in 1958 with Jacob Weirich as pastor. Nearby was the Rocky Mountain Mennonite camp. In 2006 the membership was 47.
