Fraserview Mennonite Brethren Church (Richmond, British Columbia, Canada)
11295 Mellis Dr., Richmond, BC, V6X 1L8. (604) 270-4211. Pastor Dan Unrau served in 2001 as a congregational leader. In 1965 there were 393 members; in 1975, 335; in 1985, 323; in 1995, 219; in 2000, 165. The congregation has been affiliated with the British Columbia Conference of the Mennonite Brethren Churches (1954-), the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches (1954-) and the General Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches (1954-). The language of worship is English.
The congregation began services in 1954, and formally organized in 1955. The first building was occupied in 1954, with a subsequent building program in 1979. David Vogt is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated through division from Vancouver Mennonite Brethren due to the latter's size.
The church's organizational meeting was held on January 29, 1955.
