Gerbéviller (Lorraine, France)
Gerbeviller, a town eight miles (13 km) south of Lunéville, France, where a Mennonite congregation was formed in 1908. It was, however, short-lived. Until 1914 the elders Pierre Sommer and Joseph Schmouker served it. After the outbreak of World War I religious services were omitted, for the region lay in the battle area. The town was completely destroyed, and most of the Mennonites moved away.
