House of Praise (Terrace, British Columbia, Canada)

RR 3, Terrace, BC, V8G 4R6. Pastor Arnold Peters served in 1981 as a congregational leader. In 1965 there were 17 members; in 1975, 34. The congregation withdrew from conference in 1981. It had been affiliated with the British Columbia Conference of the Mennonite Brethren Churches (1963-1981), the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches (1963-1981) and the General Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches. The language of worship is English.

The congregation began services in 1962, and formally organized in 1963. The first building was occupied in 1963. The congregation originated through outreach by the West Coast Children's Mission.

House of Praise was preceded by the Terrace Gospel Chapel begun in 1951. In 1962 a group that wished to remain Mennonite Brethren left the Gospel Chapel, which had become interdenominational. The Terrace Gospel Chapel became independent with Mennonite Brethren support going to the new group.
