IJntema, Jan (1894-1944)
Jan IJntema was born in 1894 at Workum, Friesland and died 1944 at Surhuisterveen. IJntema was a Dutch Mennonite pastor who served at Surhuisterveen 1918-1922, Oudebildtzijl 1922-1926, Dantumawoude 1926-1931, Leeuwarden 1931-1936, and Haarlem 1936-1944; author of De Doopsgezinden (Huis ter Heide, 1930, 2d ed. 1930) and Wij Doopsgezinden (Amsterdam, 1940, 2d ed. 1941). He also published two articles in the Doopsgezind ]aarboekje (1936 and 1937) and a number of sermons. In cooperation with Pastor A. Binnerts he founded the A.N.D.P.V. (Dutch Mennonite Pastors' Association) and served as its secretary-treasurer for many years.
