Jelis de Backer (d. 1571)

Jelis de Backer, an Anabaptist martyr, was seized with Adriaen Jansz, a fellow believer, because of his faith. Because they refused to leave the brotherhood they were burned at the stake in 1571 at Rijssel (Lille).
