Jelis Potvliet (d. 1562)
Jelis Potvliet, an Anabaptist martyr, was beheaded at Wervik, Flanders in 1562 with Jelis Strings and his brother Pieter Potvliet. They were all weavers, originally from Thielt in Flanders. They were sentenced to die at the stake, but because heavy rains had made the wood too wet to burn, they were beheaded.
