Kimswerd (Friesland, Netherlands)

Kimswerd, Dutch province of Friesland, where Leenaert Bouwens in 1551-1582 baptized 125 or 132 persons; in 1563-1565 he baptized here no less than 65. This large number suggests the existence of a congregation, of which, however, nothing is known. The newly baptized members may have joined the congregation of nearby Arum.
