Kleermaker, G. (d. 1573)
G. Kleermaker is listed by van Braght in his Martyrs Mirror as an Anabaptist martyr, executed at Antwerp, Belgium, in 1573 (exact date and method of execution not given). A letter written by G. Kleermaker in prison to "J. H.," a sister of the congregation, is found in the Martyrs Mirror. But this information is incomplete and probably incorrect. No martyr by this name was found among die victims in Antwerp. G. Kleermaker may be identical either with Coenraad Cleermaker or with Gillis Glercq, Nos. 1044 and 1052 of Génard's list in Antwerpsch archievenblad XIV, who were both banished from the city and not put to death.
