Konferenz der nordwestdeutschen Mennonitengemeinden
The Konferenz der nordwestdeutschen Mennonitengemeinden (Conference of Northwest German Mennonite Churches) is a union of the Mennonite congregations in Emden, Gronau, Leer-Oldenburg, and Norden, formed to facilitate the services of a single pastor. When the congregation in Leer was unable to support a minister financially in 1920 and the Norden congregation faced a similar situation in 1931, Abraham Fast (1886-1962), who had been pastor of the Emden congregation since 1918 and of the Gronau congregation since 1922, was invited to serve these congregations also. The union occurred in 1942 and was integrated into the Vereinigung der deutschen Mennonitengemeinden in 1953. Legal incorporation of the union followed in 1973.
