Langham Evangelical Bible Church (Langham, Saskatchewan, Canada)

Box 115, 47 5 Ave., Langham, SK, S0K 2L0. (306) 283-4321. Located at 421 Main St. East. Pastor Brian Thiessen served in 2000 as a congregational leader. In 1925 there were 49 members; in 1955, 110; in 1975, 125; in 1985, 134. The congregation has been affiliated with the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren and the Fellowship of Evangelical Bible Churches (1987-) after the former conference changed its name. The language of worship is English; the transition from German occurred in the 1950s.

The congregation began services in 1911, and formally organized in 1925. The first building was occupied in 1912, with subsequent building programs in 1929 and 1942. Jacob R. Doerksen is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated through division from Langham Bruderthaler due to distance of travel for some members, increasing numbers, and some doctrinal differences.

Langham was affiliated with the original Bruderthaler church north of Langham until 1924 when that church decided to adopt a different form of baptism and the South Bruderthaler, unable to accept that, decided to form a separate congregation.

The church building was destroyed by fire in 1929. Langham was known as Langham Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church until 1977.
