Lucky Lake Mennonite Brethren Church began services in 1943. The first building was occupied in 1947, with a subsequent building program in 1986. J. S. and Lena Adrian are considered the founding leaders of the group. The congregation originated through outreach by Western Children's Mission.

The group was affiliated with the Western Children's Mission 1945-54. In 1969, the congregation joined with Beechy Mennonite Brethren in calling one minister to serve both churches, due to tight economic times. Lucky Lake changed from Lucky Lake Mennonite Brethren to its current name in 1986.
