Lynken Pieters (ca. 1535-1560)
Lynken Pieters (Lynken van Heercke), an Anabaptist, was secretly beheaded on 20 November 1560 inside the Gravensteen castle at Ghent, Belgium, together with Soetken van den Houtte and Martha Baets. After the execution their corpses were thrown into a pit outside the Muide Gate. Soetken and Martha are named by van Braght, Martyrs' Mirror, but Lynken is not. Lynken was a daughter of Pieter Cornelis; she was born at Hamme near Dendermonde in Flanders, was unmarried and 25 years of age.
