Mayer, Marx (d. 1531)
Marx (Marcx) Mayer, an early Anabaptist leader from Alterlangen near Nürnberg in Germany, about whose Anabaptist activity not much is known. In August 1527 he was with many other leaders at the Martyrs' Synod at Augsburg. In June 1530 he was arrested at Creglingen near Ansbach, Germany, but he recanted and was released. Soon after he joined the sect of the Puschenhamers and was beheaded on 6 July 1531.
