Mechtelt Melis (d. 1552)
Mechtelt Melis, an Anabaptist martyr of Antwerp, Belgium, drowned there in a sack on 23 September 1552. She was born at The Hague, Holland, and was married to Adriaen Wouterssone, who was executed on the same day as his wife by burning at the stake.
