Mildam (Friesland, Netherlands)
Mildam, a hamlet in the Dutch province of Friesland, near Heerenveen, the seat of a Mennonite congregation belonging to the Groningen Old Flemish branch (the Naamlijst of 1731 erroneously calls it Frisian). In 1648 it had a small meetinghouse. The preachers listed are Jacob Poppes (1648), Frank Wybes (1681), Jan Rykels (1683), Jan Jans Heide (1696-1764), serving 1725-1764, Klaas Eites, ca.1722-1746, Dirk Gerrits 1747-d.1770. The membership numbered about 50 in 1710, 62 in 1733, 39 in 1754. About 1765 the congregation of Mildam merged with that of neighboring Knijpe, hence it was then called Mildam and Knijpe or Knijpe and Mildam. It died out about 1800.
