Martin Möllinger, a German Mennonite elder, was born at Dühren, Baden, Germany, on 12 November 1698. For 20 years (1753-1773) he served as preacher and elder of the Mennonite congregation at Mannheim, after he had farmed for three years at Mutterstadt and 25 years at Monsheim. He died at Mannheim, 17 January 1774.

Through Martin Möllinger, at the instigation of the Danzig Elder Hans van Steen, the correspondence between the West Prussian and South German Mennonites was begun (Mennonitischer Gemeinde-Kalender, 1935, 112 ff.). The letters and poems of David Möllinger were read with pleasure by the West Prussian Mennonites. A song of 40 stanzas and the letters were copied by Hans van Steen and placed in the archives of the Danzig Church. The Familiennachrichten des Martin Möllinger zu Mannheim vom I. Februar 1766 (published in Gem.-Kal., 1940) contains a brief biography in addition to data on his ancestors and brothers and sisters.
