Nestler, Herman (b. 1879)
Herman Nestler, who was born in 1879, was a teacher at the Gymnasium in Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany, and superintendent of education in Passau, author of the meritorious book, Die Täuferbewegung in Regensburg; Ein Ausschnitt aus der Regensburger Reformationsgeschichte (Regensburg, 1926). This book relates in detail the rise of the Anabaptist movement in Regensburg and its suppression. The numerous court records of Anabaptist trials (82 in number) in the Regensburg city archives are especially valuable; they are given verbatim.
