Nieuwvliet (Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, Netherlands)

Nieuwvliet "in 't lant van Cadsant" is a hamlet in Dutch Zeeland-Flanders, where a Mennonite congregation existed from the 16th to the 18th century. The congregation, which was composed of refugees from Belgian Flanders in 1614 and the following years and which was always small, had a preacher of its own only a part of the time, but had a church. After 1771 this meetinghouse was apparently no longer used. In the lists of Mennonite congregations it is mentioned for the last time in 1775. On 10 July 1779 the members joined the neighboring congregation of Aardenburg. The Nieuwvliet congregation is often called Cadzand or Groede.
