Nivenius, Johannes (16th century)

Johannes Nivenius (Niuenius, Johan van Nieuveen), rector of the Old School in Amsterdam, wrote an account of the Anabaptist attack on Amsterdam in 1535 in Latin verse. It appeared in 1552 under the title Tumultus Anabaptistarum in noblissimo totius Hollandiae cmporio Amsteldamcnsi, nuper cxorti descriptio. C. G. Plemp published a Dutch translation in 1631 and also an enlarged and revised Latin edition in Antwerp, 1632.
