Norte Colony, Del, Bolivia

The Del Norte Colony was founded in 1980 by settlers from the Santa Rita and Nord colonies in Mexico. It is located approximately 150 km (95 mi.) northeast of Santa Cruz, east of the Rio Grande River, and adjacent to Valle Esperanza colony. Its people belong to an Old Colony Mennonite congregation led in 1986 by bishop Ben Wider. The population of this colony in 1986 was 400 inhabitants, of whom 143 were church members.
