Oetenbach (Zürich, Switzerland)
Oetenbach (Oethenbach), a tower at Zürich, Switzerland, which served as a prison for many Swiss Brethren, particularly about 1640. Hans Landis was executed here in 1614. Another Hans Landis and his daughter Margaretha were imprisoned here for 60 weeks in 1638-1639, Hans Müller for two years, Adelheyd Egli, the wife of Felix Landis, for four years. Rudolf Bachmann was imprisoned in the Oetenbach tower from 1640 to the end of his life. Some others died there during imprisonment.
