Ostra (Moravia, Czech Republic)
Ostra, a Moravian village on an island in the March River south of Hradisch and Bilowitz (Velké Bilovice), in which the Hutterian Brethren had a Bruderhof. Its inmates fled to Hungary at the end of December 1620 because of the brutality of the Bouquoy troops. In desperation one woman threw her child into the river, and the Brethren with difficulty prevented her suicide. In the general withdrawal Ostra and Neudorf had to be abandoned.
