Cornerstone Mennonite Brethren Church (Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada)
The Cornerstone Mennonite Brethren congregation began services and formally organized in 1981. The first building was occupied in 1981, with a subsequent building program in 1986. Jake Bergen is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated through outreach by the Harbour of Hope Chapel.
In 1985 there were 35 members; in 1995, 49; in 2000, 38. The congregation has been affiliated with the British Columbia Conference of the Mennonite Brethren Churches, the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches and the General Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches. The language of worship is English.
In the late 1990s the congregation changed its name from Prince Rupert Mennonite Brethren Church.
The congregation is located at 202-6th Ave. West, Prince Rupert, BC, V8J 1Z1. (250) 627-1033. Pastor Andreas Tabert served in 2002 as a congregational leader.
