Red Deer Mennonite Brethren Church (Red Deer, Alberta, Canada)
The Red Deer Mennonite Brethren congregation began services in 1982, and formally organized in 1983. The first building was occupied in 1985. Marvin Schmidt is considered the founding leader of the group, serving as pastor from 1983 until 1988. The congregation originated through outreach by the Alberta Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches.
In 1985 there were 19 members; in 1988, 26. The congregation dissolved about 1988. It had been affiliated with the Alberta Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches, Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches and General Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches. The language of worship is English.
Due to a decline in membership following recession in the community, the congregation moved to an evening service format in January 1988.
