Rosedale Church of God in Christ, Mennonite (Crooked Creek, Alberta, Canada)
The Rosedale Church of God in Christ, Mennonite congregation at Crooked Creek, AB began services in 1929, and formally organized in 1939. The first building was occupied in 1931, with subsequent building programs in 1938, 1949, and 1972. Gerhard de Veer is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated through colonization from Linden, Alberta.
In 1975 there were 131 members; in 1985, 167; in 2000, 192. The congregation has been affiliated with the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. The language of worship is English; the transition from German occurred in the 1930s.
The congregation operates Rosedale Christian School as well as senior citizen and selfcare units. Leadership of the congregation is on a rotational basis, with one minister serving three or more years.
The congregation's address is Crooked Creek, AB, T0H 0Y0. (780) 957-2362. The church is located 0.5 km west, 3 km south, 0.5 km west of Crooked Creek Store. Minister Dennis Toews served in 2001 as one of the non-salaried congregational leaders.
