Salem Mennonite Church (General Conference Mennonite), located five miles northeast of Cordell, Washita County, Oklahoma, with H. D. Schmidt as minister and a membership of 20, was listed by H. P. Krehbiel, Mennonite Churches of North America (1911). The Minutes and Reports of the Western District Conference, starting 1913, list a Salem Mennonite Church at Weatherford, OK, which is likely the same congregation. The last time the church is mentioned in the Minutes was in 1918, at which time it was represented by R. Riesen.
