Schmellentin, Joannes Christophorus (18th century)
Joannes Christophorus Schmellentin, a physician at Amsterdam, who translated the confession of Hans de Ries from the Dutch into the German and edited it with a preface: Ein Kurtz Bekäntnüsz der fürnämsten Hauptstüclkken des Christlichen Glaubens . . . (Amsterdam, 1741). He also published a Dutch edition of this confession: Een korte belydenis der voornaamste Artykelen des Christelyken Geloofs . . . En nu met een Voorreden voorzien en uitgegeeven (Amsterdam, 1741).
