Peter Schultz (2 March 1853-13 April 1930) was born in Gnadenheim, Molotschna settlement, South Russia. He was the seventh child of Heinrich and Helena (Fast) Schultz. He came to North America in 1874, settling at Mountain Lake, Minnesota. On 6 January 1878, he married Anna Klassen. Thirteen children were born to them, of whom one son and two daughters died in infancy. Four sons were ministers: G. P. Schultz, Chicago; H. P. Schultz, Saskatchewan; D. P. Schultz, South Dakota and Oregon; and Jacob P. Schultz, Saskatchewan. Peter Schultz was a member of the Bruderthal Mennonite Church (Evangelical Mennonite Brethren, now the Fellowship of Evangelical Bible Churches) of Mountain Lake until 1903, when he moved to Langham, Saskatchewan and became a charter member of the Bruderthal Church there. He was a minister of the Langham Bruderthal Mennonite Church from 1903, and elder from 1909 until 1930.

Peter Schultz's contribution to his community and conference was one of personal involvement, sound Biblical preaching, and loving church leadership. He was one of the ministers associated with the founding of the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Conference. He combined the work of ministry with his occupation of farming. He died on 13 April 1930 in Langham and was buried in the Bruderthal cemetery.
