Sherbrooke Mennonite Church (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada)

The Sherbrooke Mennonite congregation in Vancouver, BC began services in 1965, and formally organized in 1968. The first building was occupied in 1965. Erwin Cornelsen is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated through church planting by Vancouver First United Mennonite due to the latter's size. Sherbrooke is the parent church to Peace Mennonite Church in Richmond.

In 1975 there were 316 members; in 1985, 294; in 1995, 279; in 2000, 245. The congregation has been affiliated with Mennonite Church British Columbia (1968-), Conference of Mennonites in Canada / Mennonite Church Canada(1968-) and General Conference Mennonite Church (1971-1999). The language of worship is English and German; the transition from German occurred in the 1970s.

The congregation's address is 7155 Sherbrooke St., Vancouver, BC, V5X 4E3. (604) 327-3913. The church is located on 55th Ave. between Fraser St. and Knight St. Pastor Garry Janzen served in 2002 as a congregational leader.
