South Park Mennonite Brethren Church (Altona, Manitoba, Canada)

The South Park Mennonite Brethren congregation in Altona, MB began services and formally organized in 1981. The first building was occupied in December 1990. The congregation originated through outreach by individuals from the Horndean Mennonite Brethren Church.

The founding leaders were Waldo and Alda Thiessen, Theodor and Frieda Martens, Ken and Iris Kliewer, and Jack and Marilyn Hoeppner.

In 1985 there were 37 members; in 1995, 125. The congregation has been affiliated with the Mennonite Brethren Church of Manitoba (1982-), the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches and the General Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches. The language of worship is English.

The congregation's address is Box 1719, 335 6th Street S.E., Altona, MB, R0G 0B0. (204) 324-5947. Pastor Robert L. Enns served in 2000 as a congregational leader.
