Tiefengrund Rosenort Mennonite Church (Laird, Saskatchewan, Canada)

The Tiefengrund Rosenort Mennonite congregation at Laird, SK began services in 1894, and formally organized in 1895. The first building was occupied in 1910, with a subsequent building program in 1958. Peter Regier is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated through immigration from West Prussia in 1894.

Tiefengrund was part of the Rosenort church group. The Horse Lake congregation bought the congregation's building that was replaced in 1958.

In 1965 there were 146 members; in 1975, 142; in 1985, 147; in 1995, 151; in 2000, 141. The congregation has been affiliated with Mennonite Church Saskatchewan, Conference of Mennonites in Canada / Mennonite Church Canada and General Conference Mennonite Church (until 1999). The language of worship is English; the transition from German occurred in the 1960s.

The leaders of the congregation have included Johannes Regier (1911-1945), Johann Friesen (1930-1968), Arthur Regier (1951-1966), Henry Klaassen (1967-1969), Robert Friesen (1970-1981), Arthur E. Regier (1982), Richard Bucher (1983-1993), Les Regier (1994), Roy Kauffman (1995-1998), Barbara Friesen (1999-2000), Lorne Epp (2001- ).

The congregation's address is Box 57, Laird, SK, S0K 2H0. (306) 223-4340. The church is located 7.5 km north of Laird.
