Vancouver Chinese Mennonite Church (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada)
The Vancouver Chinese Mennonite congregation began services in 1977, and formally organized on 4 June 1978 with 41 charter members. The initial group met in the facilities of Mountainview Mennonite Church, but they soon overextended these facilities and purchased a former YMCA building in Chinatown through the financial assistance of conferences, churches and other individuals. A subsequent building program was undertaken in 1984. In 1995 the church constructed a Chinese Senior Home. Stephen and Sally Lee are considered the founding leaders of the group. The congregation originated through outreach by Mountainview Mennonite Church as well as the conferences. The language of worship is Cantonese.
The congregation eventually joined Mennonite Church BC and Mennonite Church Canada in 1979.
