Wall, Franz (d. 1906)
Franz Wall: Mennonite minister and founder of the Muntau Hospital. Influenced by George Muller of Bristol, England, he started the hospital in 1889 in order to relieve suffering. After his death in 1906 his son Franz Fr. Wall (b. 1882) continued as manager, assisted by his sisters, who had received special training in the field. The building was enlarged into a two-story building, and significant doctors, e.g., Erich Tavonius, were won for it. In 1930 Wall had to give up his position and the hospital was taken over by the Soviet government. He was exiled in 1936 and nothing is known about him since 1939.
