Waterloo Mennonite Brethren Church (Waterloo, Ontario, Canada)
The Waterloo Mennonite Brethren congregation in Waterloo, Ontario began services in 1961, and formally organized in 1967. The first building was occupied in 1973, with a subsequent building program in 1989. The congregation originated through outreach by the Kitchener Mennonite Brethren Church.
In 1985 there were 143 members; in 1995, 331; in 2000, 438. The congregation has been affiliated with the Ontario Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches (1967-), the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches (1967-) and the General Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches (1967-). The language of worship is English.
The leaders of the congregation have included Alvin Enns (1967-1975), John Redekop (1975-1976), Marvin Warkentin (1976-1985), Chuck Buller (1986-1992), Lorraine Dick (1993), Mike Frantz (1994-1998), Julie Sharrow (1999-2000), David Macfarlane (2001-2003), Paul McIlwraith (2003- ).
