Whitemouth Church of God in Christ, Mennonite (Whitemouth, Manitoba, Canada)
The Whitemouth Church of God in Christ, Mennonite congregation at Whitemouth, MB began services in 1945. The first building was occupied in 1951, with a subsequent building program in 1960. Martin P. Barkman is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated through colonization from Greenland Church of God in Christ, Mennonite.
In 1960 there were 45 members; in 1985 180; in 2000, 135. The congregation has been affiliated with the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite.
The congregation's address is Whitemouth, MB, R0E 2G0. (204) 348-2555. The church is located 5 km northwest of Elma. Minister Ed Friesen served in 2001 as a non-salaried congregational leader. The congregation also operates Riverside School.
