Würz family name
Würz is a Hutterite family name. Joseph Würz was chosen as preacher in 1611 at Neumühl, Moravia. Moses Würz was chosen in 1650 as preacher at Sobotište in Hungary. In 1792 Andreas Würz was chosen preacher in Russia. In 1874, when the Hutterian Brethren emigrated from Russia to North America, there were members of the Würz family among the migration. The name is still found in the Hutterian Bruderhofs of the United States and Canada.
