Youth Office (General Conference Mennonite) was created at 722 Main Street, Newton, Kansas, in June 1955, when the first full-time Youth Worker was called to serve the Young People's Union. This youth office was to help organize and activate local youth fellowships, help Mennonite youth rallies, youth work shops and retreat work, and gather and publish program helps and other necessary youth materials. Youth groups were encouraged to write to the youth office to share their problems and concerns. William Gering served as part-time Youth Worker 1953-55, and full-time 1955-    .
