Zelter, Kunigunde (16th century)
Kunigunde Zelter, an Anabaptist, a member of the Baiersdorf, Bavaria, Anabaptist congregation. With ten fellow believers she lay in the prison in Baiersdorf. Before her judges she said that she had been baptized by Hans Hut; she could not believe that one is reborn through baptism. Baptism is only a sign that they accept a God-fearing life and should desist from sin. She said that Hut had further told them that one should give the government its due.
