Dialogus, ofte 't Samenspraeck
The treatise Dialogus, ofte 't Samenspraeck . . . Tracteerendehet stuck van buytentrouwen, waerin verthoontwort de onvrykeyt die een rechtgeloovige daerin heeft . . . (Dialogue Dealing with the Question of Marriage Outside of the Congregation, in Which Is Shown the Lack of Liberty, Which a True Christian Has Concerning It), was found in the archives of the Mennonite congregation at Amsterdam. Written in about 1590, the manuscript contains 38 pages, in which the opponent and unknown author shows himself as an antagonist of the practice of marriage with a person who did not belong to the church, which the Waterlanders tolerated and which P. W. Bogaert had defended shortly before. Presumably this paper was intended to be printed, but no printed copy is known.
