Gheestelijck Kruydt-Hofken, 'T
Gheestelijck Kruydt-Hofken, 'T, inhoudende veel schrijtuerlijcke Liedekens by verscheyden Autheuren ghemaeckt ende nu tot stichtinge van een yegelijck t samenghestelt, a Dutch hymnbook, which was very popular among the Dutch Mennonites of the 17th century. It contains 159 hymns without notes. Copies of the following editions have been preserved: 3rd edition, Amsterdam 1637; 6th edition, Haarlem 1647; 8th edition, Saerdam (i.e., Saandam) 1669; 9th edition, Saerdam 1683; 9th (should be 10th), Saerdam 1693. The edition of 1637 contains an appendix called Kleyn-Achter-Hofken, Beplant met verscheyden Gheestelijcke Liedekens tot stichtinge der Jeugt, containing 22 hymns. In the following editions this appendix is called 't Vermeerderde Achterhofken, containing 47 hymns.
There is also a 1664 edition of the Kruydt-Hofken, published at Alkmaar under a somewhat modified title and containing an appendix entitled Groot Achter-Hofken (containing 90 hymns). This Alkmaar edition of 1664 is said to be the 9th edition, which must be a mistake.
