Giekerk (Friesland, Netherlands)
Giekerk (Gytsjerk), a village in the Dutch province of Friesland (coordinates: 53° 14′ 27″ N, 5° 53′ 35″ E). Forty-five Mennonites living here in 1947 formed a Mennonite circle (kring), attending the church services at Veenwouden and Dantumawoude by bus. In Giekerk itself the members of this circle met regularly in the 1950s, and there was also a ladies' circle with 11 members. Giekerk kring was a part of the congregation of Veenwouden. In 1955 the membership of the circle was 33.
