Greenwood Hutterite Colony was founded in 1971 (Hofer says 1970) as a division from the Jamesville Hutterite Colony.
Clearfield Hutterite Colony in Delmont, South Dakota, is a daughter colony.
In 2012 the Greenwood Hutterite Colony was a Schmiedeleut Group 2 colony. The minster was Simon Glanzer and the manager was Marvin Glanzer.
