Abraham Hulshof (born 1874 at Borne, died 1954 at Utrecht), though spelling his name with one f, belonged to the large Dutch Mennonite Hulshoff family. He studied theology at the University of Amsterdam and the Amsterdam Mennonite Seminary and became a ministerial candidate in 1902, but never went into the ministry. In 1922 he was appointed director librarian of the University of Utrecht. Among his many publications, mostly papers published in various periodicals, should be mentioned his doctor's thesis, Geschiedenis van de Doopsgezinden te Straatsburg van 1525 tot 1557 (Amsterdam, 1905).
