Huygen, Pieter (1662-after 1724)
Pieter Huygen was a Mennonite, concerning whom nothing is known but that he was the author of Beginselen van Gods Koninkryk in den Mensch uitgedrukt in Zinnebeelden. This book was formerly very popular among the Dutch Mennonites. There have been at least nine editions (Harlingen 1689, of which there is no copy extant, Amsterdam 1700, another edition of 1700, Groningen 1715, Amsterdam 1724, 1735, 1738, 1740); in the third and following editions are inserted the Stigtelyke Rymen by Jan Huygen, who was probably Pieter Huygen's son.
