Mennonitisch-Russische Bibelgesellschaft von Nord-Amerika which has an office at Hesston, Kansas, was a branch of Licht dem Osten and published the paper Auf zum Werk. The founder and chairman of the organization, and editor of the paper, was Gustav Enss, a Mennonite (General Conference Mennonite Church) minister, Moundridge, Kansas. Other members of the organization were M. H. Schlichting, P. H. Unruh, P. D. Dirks, and P. Z. Wiebe. Originally it was affiliated with the Russian Bible and Evangelization Society of New York, which had been organized in 1919 by Paul Rader, A. C. Gabelein, W. Leon Tucker, and others. It is probable that the Mennonite branch under Enss was in existence only during 1921-23 when Auf zum Werk appeared.
